Described as a cute little town, Akumal maintains its quaint charm with small towns, fun restaurants, and gorgeous natural attractions. Snorkeling is a popular activity that allows you to view the coral reef and catch a glance at the marine life. Diving is also a pleasure here, where you can find guides to lead you through the cenotes that lead to the underwater limestone formations beneath the jungle. Within driving distance are the neighboring towns of Tulum, another beautiful city that is home to Mayan ruins, and Playa del Carmen, great for shopping and bar hopping.
